  • Queens Borough Public Library.  "The Queens Borough Public Library serves a book-hungry population of 2.2 million from 63 locations plus 6 Adult Learning Centers. It has circulated more books and other library materials than any other library system in the country since 1994, and is the second largest public library in the U.S. in terms of size of collections.

Museums

  • King Manor Museum.  "Today the centerpiece of an 11-acre New York City park in Jamaica, Queens, King Manor Museum was the home and farm of Founding Father Rufus King from 1805 to 1827. Rufus King was an author of the U.S. Constitution, as well as one of New York's first United States Senators, Ambassador to Great Britain and an early, and outspoken, opponent of slavery. King Manor later became the estate of King's son, John Alsop King, who served as New York's Governor. King Manor has been a museum since 1900."
  • Museum for African Art.  "The Museum for African Art is dedicated to increasing public understanding and appreciation of African art and culture. Recognized worldwide as the pre-eminent organizer of exhibitions and publishers of books devoted exclusively to historical and contemporary African art.

    The Museum has produced over 40 widely acclaimed exhibitions and catalogues exploring aspects of Africa's rich artistic traditional and cultural heritage. Since its inception, the Museum exhibitions have traveled to over 70 national and international museums, giving them greater access to high quality African shows.   • Museum of the Moving Image.  "The Museum of the Moving Image is dedicated to educating the public about the art, history, technique, and technology of film, television, and digital media and to examining their impact on culture and society.
