  • Afrikan Poetry Theatre, Inc.  "Cultural and Innovative Programs for the Entire Family."
  • Astoria Performing Arts Center.  "The Astoria Performing Arts Center Inc. is dedicated to providing high quality theater and entertainment at an affordable cost for the Astoria/LIC Community and to support local youth."
  • Long Island City Artists, Inc (LICA).  "LIC Artists, Inc. was founded in 1986 and incorporated in 1989 with a mission to increase the visibility of professional visual artists working in the Long Island City area (encompassing Astoria, Long Island City, Hunters Point and Sunnyside), to expand the range of opportunities available to them;
    to develop a sense of community and camaraderie among area artists and assist in developing an artists’ network; to develop and promote public art events and projects for the cultural enrichment of the Queens community."
  • Musica Reginae Productions.  "Musica Reginae Productions is dedicated to the belief that the people of Queens deserve to have first-rate classical and contemporary music available to them in their home communities and that they need not travel into Manhattan to find the best, most enriching experiences.

    The founders of MRP believe that Queens is capable of supporting more performances of classical music; that music can serve as an important bridge in an ethnically diverse community by acknowledging various heritages; and that a lack of abundant, locally available, classical music deprives our school children of important educational advantages.

    Musica Reginae exists to produce quality performances that engage, educate and entertain the citizens of Queens and draw them into an appreciation of the other cultural organizations in our borough. Our ultimate aim is to develop an audience that will access and support more of the artistic resources available in Queens and thereby improve the social cohesiveness and quality of life in our community."
  • Oratorio Society Of Queens.  "The Oratorio Society of Queens is the oldest performing arts institution in the borough. Its inception in the Spring of 1927 preceded completion of the subway (the #7 line) in 1931 and the Triboro Bridge in 1940. Through the "Great Depression" and WWII, the chorus continued to rehearse and perform, contributing to "life as usual" in the most extraordinary of times. The founders of the organization did not think of Queens as a place to sleep when they were not working in Manhattan - but rather as a place to live. Churches, temples, elementary and secondary schools, colleges and performing arts centers were built to enhance the quality of life in the borough. Today, thousands of immigrants come to Queens because it is a vital place to live and make a life in America. Our presence as a cultural institution in this borough for over 75 years is an indication of the success with which we continue to meet the cultural needs of our fellow citizens.

    The Oratorio Society of Queens continues in its cultural mission - sharing a love of classical choral music with its friends and neighbors throughout Queens. With semi-annual performances in such venues such as the Performing Arts Center at Queensborough Community College, Bayside High School, St. Andrew Avellino Church, Cross Island Y, Bethany Baptist Church, Temple Beth Sholom, Christ the King High School, Temple Beth-Am (Merrick, LI), Queens Terrace on the Park, Flushing Meadow Park, Forest Park Bandshell, Trinity Lutheran Church, Maria Regina Convent (Brentwood, LI), Bethany Baptist Church (Jamaica), Reform Temple of Forest Hills, and the Immaculate Conception Center, the Oratorio Society has thrilled thousands with exciting, high quality musical events. "
  • P.S.1 Contemporary Arts Center.  "P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, an affiliate of The Museum of Modern Art, is the oldest and second largest non-profit arts center in the United States solely devoted to contemporary art. Recognized as a defining force of the alternative space movement, P.S.1 stands out from major arts institutions through its cutting-edge approach to exhibitions and direct involvement of artists within a scholarly framework. It acts as an intermediary between the artist and its audience. Functioning as a living and active meeting place for the general public, P.S.1 is a catalyst for ideas, discourses and new trends in contemporary art and its practices."
  • Long Island City Cultural Alliance.  "The Long Island City Cultural Alliance (LICCA) is comprised of nine member organizations, including: Dorsky Gallery Curatorial Programs, the Fisher Landau Center for Art, Museum for African Art, Museum of the Moving Image, the Noguchi Museum, P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, SculptureCenter, Socrates Sculpture Park and Thalia Spanish Theatre. LICCA is committed to promoting and increasing the visibility and accessibility of Long Island City which is home to an amazingly diverse group of visual and performing arts organizations as well as cultural institutions and activities. In addition to our annual event, Summer in LongIsCity, LICCA publishes a quarterly guide to arts and culture in Long Island City that is distributed citywide."
  • Thalia Spanish Theatre.  "We are the first and only bilingual Hispanic theatre in Queens, serving one of the most diverse communities in the United States, including more than 550,000 Hispanics from every Spanish-speaking nation in the world.

    In 28 years we have produced more than 95 productions of the best Spanish plays, zarzuelas (Spanish operettas) and folklore shows of music and dance, and earned national recognition as a leader in New York City’s celebrated Spanish theatre movement.

    Our mission is to celebrate the vibrancy and diversity of Spanish and Latin American culture with unique productions of plays, musicals and dance."
  • Women's Studio Center.  "Women's Studio Center is a not-for-profit fine art studio dedicated to creating a safe & nurturing environment that fosters creativity for both visual artists and writers.

    We rent studio space to visual artists and have workshops and events for visual artists and writers.

    It is our goal to empower artists & writers and give them the knowledge, time and space to embark on a professional career in the arts if that is their goal.
